Sethi proposes Gaddafi Stadium be named after Edhi

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) executive committee member and Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi has urged the PCB to change the name of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to Edhi Stadium in order to pay tribute to the celebrated philanthropist and humanitarian.

In a tweet, the 68-year-old asked PCB’s Board of Governance (BoG) to approve his suggestion.

Earlier, Pakistan and Sussex teams observed a minute’s silence during their tour match on Saturday, whereas Misbah’s men also wore black armbands in order to pay tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi, who passed away on Friday night after a long battle with kidney illness.

The 88-year-old was given a state funeral in acknowledgment of his services for the nation for more than six decades.
