Sanitary workers deprived of salary for three months

More than 50 sanitary patrol workers have been deprived of their salaries for three months.

The Rawalpindi Health Department appointed more than 300 sanitary workers on contract basis and also used their services in the anti-dengue and polio eradication campaigns during the Eidul Fitr holidays.

About 50 sanitary workers said that they are not being paid from the last three months while they are constantly performing their duties without any break and also did their duty during the Eidul Fitr holidays.

“Our Eid remained very lackluster as we could not purchase clothes for our children while the shop owners have refused to provide us essential commodities on credit as we have failed to repay their loan,” they added.

On the other hand, the health department officials said that due to new appointments, there is a delay in accounts and other matters. However, the work has been completed and salaries will be paid to the remaining persons within the next few days.
