Girls clinch top positions in FBISE SSC result

  • Peshawar APS student secures first position with 1,032 marks

 

The girls clinched the top positions of all science and general groups in the results of the annual examination of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-II 2016, Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

According to the FBISE result announced on Tuesday, a total of 82,894 candidates appeared in the exams out of which 65,890 passed while the total pass percentage was 79.49 per cent.

In science group, a total number of 55,562 regular candidates appeared in the exam out of which 51,624 could pass the exam.

In humanities group, a total number of 8,149 candidates appeared in the exam out of which 6,457 candidates passed the exam. Among the private candidates, 13,474 candidates appeared in the exam in science group out of which 5,823 could pass the exam while in the humanities group, a total of 5,709 candidates appeared and 1,986 could pass the exam.

The students who clinched the top positions are Manal Aamir from Army Public School and College (APSC) for Girls Peshawar Cantt secured first position with 1,032 marks in science group while the second position was shared by Urooj Fatima from APSC Hyderabad Cantt and Aiman Gul from HITEC School and College for Girls Taxila Cantt with 1,031 marks.

The third position was shared by Areesha Ehsan from APSC Lahore Cantt and Hifza Saeed from APSC for Girls Multan Cantt and Areej Musharraf from APSC for Girls Multan Cantt with 1,030 marks.

While in humanities group, the top three positions were clinched by the girls from Fauji Foundation College for Girls Rawalpindi Cantt, including Areej Sajjad with 985 marks, Barira Sajjad with 982 and Rabia Imran with 977 marks respectively.

Speaking on the occasion as a chief guest, Minister of State for Federal Education Engr Muhammad Balighur Rahman congratulated the position holder students, their parents and educational institutions concerned.

The minister said that since the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz government took charge, it has brought many reforms in the FBISE to facilitate the students.

The FBISE is one of the best boards of Pakistan according to many international surveys and one should feel privileged to appear through this board, said the minister.

He said that better board systems, better exam settings and better exam checking system lead to a better overall education system. “So, we should focus on quality of education in Pakistan,” he said.

Earlier, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that the Pakistani educational institutions are competing with the world in the education sector.

He introduced the position holder students to Prime Minister Youth Development Programmes, including the laptop scheme, fee reimbursement programme and scholarship programmes and said that they can take benefit from the schemes.
