I applaud Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for announcing that Hockey Club of Pakistan in Karachi will be renamed as Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium in order to pay tribute to the late philanthropist and symbol of humanity.
If we take a small glance over this legend’s life, we will come to know that he can be the only national hero who felt other’s pain rather than him and he was the angel of mercy who helped the poor people, gave shelter to homeless and whose hands were all the time on innocent and orphans children’s heads.
Let us not forget that Edhi started his charitable organisation in 1951, and ran it entirely with private donations. He also turned it into the biggest ambulance service in the world.
It is a really great task of Pakistan Hockey Federation PHF for giving honour to a person who spent all of his life for others and we hope that government will do more things for remembering him.
