By-polls in Gilgit-Baltistan’s constituency GBLA-18 Diamir-4 Tangir are underway.
A close contest is expected between Pakistan Mulim League- Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Imran Wakeel and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) candidate Haji Gulbar Khan. The seat fell vacant after the death of PML-N leader Haji Muhammad Wakeel.
At least 15,645 voters will be exercising their voting rights. Pakistan Army and police personnel have been deployed to hold the election in peaceful manner.
