The Pakistani actor who made her Bollywood debut with ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ has recently been in the news for her rumoured closeness to actor Ranbir Kapoor.
It is well known that the former is a huge fan of Ranbir and the buzz suggests that the two spent time together in Berlin earlier this month. Mawra was there for her sister’s birthday, while Ranbir went to discuss a film with director Ayan Mukerji.
However, the actor denies these rumours, saying, “There is nothing for me to say about this as nothing I say will be enough to put these rumours to rest. People who are close to me know the truth so I don’t need to clear the air.”
Earlier, she also met Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor and got a big shout out from the man himself.
And so, it’s not surprising that the two have managed to spark dating rumours.
Meanwhile, despite making waves on Pakistani television, Mawra is not open to the idea of working in Indian TV shows.
“I feel that dramas dominate in Pakistan and films dominate in India, which is why I want to be part of films here [in India]. It’s not like I don’t find Indian TV shows interesting, I have grown up watching some of them. But I am not open to working in one of them as of now,” she said.
However, the actor insists that there is nothing wrong in Indian TV shows. She says, “The shows are very different from dramas in Pakistan and there is nothing wrong in that. I don’t think we need to change them. If we try to fix the number of episodes in Indian TV shows, like we have in Pakistani dramas, they might lose their charm.”
Mawra, who is new in Mumbai, was on the lookout for a place to stay and says that she has been lucky to find a great place. “I’m so fortunate to be able to find a nice place. I am in Berlin at the moment, but once I am back, I will be doing up the house,” she says.
