Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) arrested 18 suspects and recovered weapons from their possession during search operations here on Sunday.
According to a spokesman for the Frontier Corps (FC), the paramilitary forces along with police and sensitive agencies personnel were conducting joint search operations in Kaley Badini, Kechi Baig, Saryab areas of the provincial capital Quetta.
He said that during separate actions the law enforcers arrested 18 suspects and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
The spokesperson said more arrests were expected as the detainees were being interrogated.
Meanwhile, local police claimed to have arrested a key gangster from Hub area on Sunday.
Identified as Naeem Lahooti of the Aziz Baloch gang, the gangster was wanted to the police in ransom, target killing, robbery and other cases. The suspect was carrying a head money of Rs 1million, police officials said. The arrested gangster has been shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
