The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) removed party’s senior deputy convener Amir Khan from his membership of the coordination committee.
Sources said on Monday that following ‘complaints’ against Khan, he has been removed from his position. However, the nature of the complaints could not be ascertained so far.
The MQM is also yet to release an official statement on the matter. According to sources, the party has inducted six new members in its decision-making body.
The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on June 16 had allowed Amir Khan, in response to his petition, to fly to Dubai. He was detained by the Rangers on charges of aiding terrorists.
He had then approached the court, seeking bail and travel abroad. Khan’s plea was accepted and the ATC had directed him to return to country till July 20.
In August 2015, Khan was inducted into the coordination committee on the decision of MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
