Water supply to Karachi suspended as pipeline ruptures

A 72-inch diameter pipeline ruptures near Dhabeji pumping station due to power breakdown suspending water supply to major parts of the Karachi.

The major part of the city faced a deficiency of water supply for four hours. While, Dhabeji water station’s electricity was restored after a four-hour shortage.

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) administration has assured that the workers have started repairing of the pipeline.

Authorities said that the restoration process could take up to 24 hours while advising citizens to use water carefully.
