Spectre of defeat forcing PML-N to play dirty in AJK elections: Raja Pervaiz

General Secretary of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) and former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, in a rejoinder to Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed, has alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government has a soft corner for India’s Modi government.

Ashraf said the PML-N government is using negative tactics as it fear defeat in the AJK elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that the information minister, instead of condemning Indian atrocities in the Indian held Kashmir, has leveled baseless accusations on the AJK government during his press conference which amounts to hiding the Indian atrocities against the helpless Kashmiri people. He said that on the one hand, the information minister is looking to hoodwink the people of Pakistan about the Indian atrocities and, on the other, is inciting the PML-N goons to attack the persons and properties of the PPP workers and sympathisers in the AJK.

The former prime minister said that the federal ministers are campaigning for the PML-N candidates with full protocol and are trying to influence the AJK elections.

“These federal ministers are using inflammatory language which has inspired violent incidents against the PPP workers and supporters.”

He said a free and fair election means defeat for the PML-N in AJK. He said that the leveling of false accusations against the AJK government by the PML-N federal ministers is a case of pot calling kettle black. The PML-N can clearly see their defeat in the AJK elections so they are resorting to inciting their thugs to violence, arson and destruction of the properties of the PPP supporters.
