Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that Maryam Nawaz remained engaged with the Prime Minister’s Office in his absence while Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s son used to attend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor meetings, which were unlawful and unjustified.
Talking to media persons after his arrival at London Airport on Saturday, Khan said that PM Nawaz Sharif should keep in mind that he would be brought to the court of justice and the opposition parties would soon chalk out a strategy in this regard.
He said that the PM considers himself as an emperor but in democracy, all should be accountable for their deeds and should be answerable about their mandate.
The PTI chairman said that PM Nawaz spent public money for his treatment abroad and money earned through corruption was transferred abroad via money laundering.
The issues of spending public money for the premier’s treatment and using a special plane for arriving back would also be raised by moving a petition in the court, he added.
“Has the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz not found any alternate of Nawaz Sharif in the last 30 years to head the party in case of any emergency or his absence?” Khan questioned.
The PTI chief further said that he had arrived in London to meet his beloved children, who are the most precious asset of his life, due to which he was unable to attend the funeral of Abdul Sattar Edhi.
He said that he feels sorry for not attending the funeral prayers of the great philanthropist and renowned social worker.
He said that the head of Edhi Foundation, Edhi was the only person who helped him in laying the foundation stone of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.
