Provincial assemblies have no role in dam making

Mr. Khurshid Shah often quotes the resolutions of three assemblies against KBD. The truth of matter is that as per Constitution of

Pakistan provincial assemblies have no role whatsoever in deciding upon a dam site which is an exclusive domain of Council of Common Interest. As such the PPP supremo ought not to mention the resolutions of three assemblies of smaller provinces. Incidentally the population of Balochistan is less than 10 per cent of Punjab.  It appears a minority of the population of Pakistan is holding the majority hostage to its untenable interests.  The WAPDA chairman has done an incalculable service by publishing 26 articles about the fiction and truth about KBD.  The PPP which was known as the “Zanjeer of Pakistan” is now limited to only one province of Sindh.  The leader of opposition has as such no power to dictate national policies by his unwise political wisdom as  KBD has been declared to be a victim of politics by a PPP Prime Minister while KBD has nothing to do with politics and the views of Chairman WAPDA who has a peerless record should not be treated as a layman like Mr. Khurshid Shah on purely technical issues as it is not wise to do so.

  1. After the 2010 floods PM Gilani had said that if KBD had been built south Punjab would have been saved from the flood damage, however under party pressure he later withdrew his support, Gov Taseer had said that KBD must be built to save south Punjab from the floods, he had asked me to give him a hundred points in support of KBD, which I had done, unfortunately he also did not pursue the matter, perhaps under political pressure.
