Several politicians have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah offered his condolences and announced three-day mourning in the province.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, in a statement on a social media website, stated that Edhi was a noble soul and a great Pakistani.
He recalled that late Edhi was the first person to donate a big amount to Shaukat Khanum cancer hospital.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP0 Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have offered condolences to the grieving family of late Edhi.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Sirajul Haq have also expressed sorrow.
PTI’s Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that there is not a single person on the face of Earth who would deny Edhi’s contribution to humanity.
Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan said that he refused to go abroad for treatment.
Pak Sarzameen Party’s (PSP0 Chief Mustafa Kamal has said that people trusted late Edhi with everything and knew that he would be there in their need, if not anyone else.
