IGP hails police for ensuring security on Eid

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tariq Masood Yaseen appreciated the security personnel and officers for ensuring elaborate security arrangements in the city during holidays of Eid-ul-Fitr to avoid any untoward incident.

He was addressing the personnel and officers of police, FC and Rangers who performed duties during Eid holidays in the federal capital. A special lunch was also arranged by the IGP for the cops during the ceremony at Police Line Islamabad.

The event was attended by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Zulifqar Haider, AIG Special Branch Waqar Chohan, SSP Security Mir Wais Niaz, SSP Operations Sajid Kiani, SSP Headquarter Muhammad Bin Ashraf and other officers and cops.

Addressing the ceremony, the IGP hoped that the Islamabad Police would continue its efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens, saying, “We have to move forward to improve our performance in accordance with the vision of the Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan to make the capital crime free.”

The police, he said, wouldn’t forget its 39 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in protection of lives and property of citizens, saying the department would take care of victim’s families and would support them in every hard time.

He said the department would continue to assist the victim’s families and fulfill their needs. The IGP on the occasion also directed to send Eid presents to the families of martyrs’ personnel.

Tariq Masood said the interior minister had supported the force in every context and it was the responsibility of the police department to make sincere efforts to fulfill the expectations of minister for making the capital crime free.

It may be mentioned here that a special meal was arranged in all the police stations of the city, office of Rescue 15 and Islamabad Traffic Police headquarters on the occasion of Eid to facilitate the cops performing duties on Eid.

After the Eid prayer, SSP Operations Sajid Kiani visited different police stations, Rescue 15 and pickets in the city to encourage the personnel on duty and to give them Eid greetings. The SPs also visited different pickets in their respective areas and wished Eid to the police personnel.
