Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has issued directives for the construction of four new hospitals in rural areas of Islamabad and two medical towers at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Polyclinic this year.
Sources said that a committee has been formed by the prime minister to review proposals pertaining to management of health related institutions in Islamabad.
The prime minister has directed Polyclinic Executive Director Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Naru and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Vice Chancellor Javed Ikram to prepare a plan for the construction of medical towers in both the hospitals.
The premier also directed the finance ministry to ensure availability of funds for the projects, the sources said.
