EU faces existential threat

When I was in Germany my friends there used to have a debate over the future of European Union. Now when the anti-EU people of UK have won the referendum, my friends called from there, saying “Lajja you were right”. I foretold them “Britain would be the first to leave the Union. And this may happen around the time of 20th century’s First World War.” My prediction was not based on any occult knowledge, but I had read Henry Kissinger’s forecast for the European Union’s future. He warned America of the emerging threat of European Union and Euro “which Washington shall have to confront, after tackling with the Islamic terrorism.” In fact the USA is more threatened by the German-led independent economy and indigenous policies under the iron lady leadership.

The referendum has turned the table; only on the day of referendum the pound plummeted to a 30-year low; Japanese stock market crashed 8 percent and suspended trading; it confirmed of another Scottish independence referendum and called for an Irish reunification referendum; far-right nationalists across Europe now call for referendums to quit EU; in two hours, the UK economy lost over £255bn, the equivalent of 40 years’ worth of EU contribution. Besides, David Cameron resigned.

Once the war on Islamic terror is over or near end, the war on Europe and war on Euro will be unleashed very soon if the European Union crumbles. This is a fear that most of the EU states feel and express in their private meetings. Towards the middle of this ongoing century, one has to see sea changes in the dynamics across Europe and America. EU is facing major existential threat.
