Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated a 60-bed Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Raiwind today.
He went to different wards and reviewed medical facilities being provided in the hospital. He expressed satisfaction over the facilities being extended to the patients in the hospital and praised construction work of the building.
The CM visited various wards including emergency ward. He also went to x-ray room, ultrasound room and laboratory. He also inspected dental clinic and directed the doctors to wear a gown during duty. He directed concerned authorities to digitalise the hospital and run on the model of Indus Hospital besides all its record should be computerised.
Sharif directed to provide transport facility immediately to the staff and nurses coming from far away places. He also talked to doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and sanitation staff and said that they are associated with a noble profession and it is the demand of this profession that they should sacrifice their all for the treatment of the patients.
Talking to the sanitation staff, Sharif said that cleanliness is half of the faith; therefore, it is their duty to improve cleanliness arrangements in the hospital to provide a hygienic environment to the patients.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the CM said that 60-bed modern hospital has been handed over to the citizens in Raiwind as a gift. Three demands were presented during the election campaign in 2013 and the promise of construction of hospital has been fulfilled, he added. He said that now the citizens will not have to go to Lahore or any other big hospital. He said that modern facilities have been made available in this hospital and he will personally review the performance of the hospital regularly. He said that second demand was of a flyover, upon which, work will be started during the current month and it will be completed on 14 August next year. The CM thanked NESPAK, Secretary Communications and Works, administration and concerned departments on completing the quality construction work of the hospital and congratulated them.
If the doctors of THQ Hospital Raiwind are ready to accept the challenge and provide treatment facilities personally to the patients then he is also with them and bonus will be given to them otherwise the model of Muzaffargarh and Bedian Road Hospitals will be adopted in this hospital, he added.
The CM said that irrespective of the construction of flyovers, bridges or roads, the nation will become healthy and strong only when education and treatment sections will give excellent results and the society cannot make a progress without an uplift of these sectors.
He said that work carried out on 1,320 MW coal power plant Sahiwal, coal power plant Port Qasim and solar project Bahawalpur is unprecedented in the history of the country. He said that thousands of megawatt electricity will be generated next year and darkness will be eliminated from Pakistan. The CM said that he personally worked very hard on these projects and visited China a number of times. He said that Rs. 112 billion of the nation has been saved only in 3,600 MW gas-based projects.
He said that various power plants will start generating energy in 2017. He said that 1320-MW Sahiwal coal power plant will be completed 6 months earlier in June 2017 instead of December 2017. He said that opponents are perturbed over the development of the country and people will again foil the conspiracy of sit-ins.
