Rain, thundershowers likely at scattered places in Punjab, KP

Rain and thundershowers are expected at scattered places of Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the next 24 hours while mainly hot and humid weather would continue elsewhere in the country.

Rain is expected at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore divisions Hazara,  Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat divisions and Kashmir during next  24 hours.

Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending southeastwards. Monsoon currents are penetrating in central and upper parts of the country an official of Met Office told APP.

In the last 24 hours rain/dust-thundershowers occurred at isolated places in Sargodha, Quetta, Zhob, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rainfall recorded during this time duration was Malamjabba 32mm, Balakot 9mm, Dir 6mm, Garhi Dupatta 31mm, Muzaffarabad 8mm, in Gilgit-Baltistan at Bagrot 7mm, Hunza 3mm, in Balochistan at Zhob 3mm, Barkhan 1mm and in Punjab at Bhakkar 1 mm.

Maximum temperatures recorded on Monday were Nokkundi 47 C, Dalbandin 46 C, Sibbi, Sh. Benazirabad, R.Y. Khan 43 C, Sukkar, Moenjodaro, Noorpurthal, Rohri 42 C. Islamabad 36 C, Lahore 37 C, Karachi 35 C, Peshawar 38 C, Quetta 39 C, Gilgit 34 C, Chitral 36 C, Hunza 32 C, Muzaffarabad 35 C, Murree 24 C, Skardu 29 C, Faisalabad 37 C, Multan 39 C, Hyderabad 38 C, Dir 33 C and Kalat 35 C.
