Attendance in government offices Monday (today) across the country was less than usual ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The offices in provisional capitals and other cities were deserted as the employees went on holidays a day before they were to be started.
In many offices, the sub-ordinate staff was present but the higher officials weren’t.
While, at some offices the officers, marked their attendance and left early in the morning.
90% of employees in various departments including Punjab and Sindh Civil Secretariat remained absent.
The Ministry of Interior has notified four public holidays from July 5th (Tuesday) to July 8th (Friday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
However, with two weekly off days, the government employees will enjoy six holidays.
