Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan apologises to Maryam Nawaz

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s sister Dr Uzma Khan apologised to Maryam Nawaz for accusing members of her squad for allegedly hitting her.

In a formal letter addressed to Maryam Nawaz, she stated, “Asim Gujjar created a misunderstanding by holding Maryam Nawaz’s protocol responsible for the harassment incident.”

Earlier, Uzma Khan said “A policeman punched me. Armed people harassed me,” Uzma claimed.

“I was going to offer Friday prayers with my children when security protocol of Maryam Nawaz stopped us. One of her squad vehicles hit my car. Police personnel pointed guns at us and misbehaved with me and harassed me,” Dr Uzma Khan claimed, while speaking to media.

She said the incident occurred at Gulberg area of Lahore.

However, the owner of a house where the incident took place clarified that the security protocol was not of Maryam but of President Azad Kashmir, Sardar Yaqoob.

Dar said Imran Khan was head of a political party, therefore, he should adopt a responsible attitude.

He said that Maryam Nawaz is the daughter of the nation and any irresponsible statement about her is regrettable.
