IGP orders strict security plan for Eid

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has called for chalking out a contingency plan for Eidul Fitr.

He issued the directive here on Sunday that a fool-proof Eid security plan should be prepared keeping in view the law and order situation as well as the security strategy.

The IGP directed that in collaboration and coordination with the other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) comprehensive security measures should be taken for Eid congregations, mosques, imambarghas, public places including shopping centres, Eid Bachat bazaars, railway stations and bus terminals.

Adequate Mobile patrolling including that on motorcycles should also be ensured.

The IGP also directed that surveillance teams at police station levels should also be formed.

He also urged that effective monitoring of security arrangements should be ensured.
