An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday sent accused involved in Zeenat murder case to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
The court directed the investigation officer to submit the challan against the accused on next hearing.
Earlier, the Factory area police produced the Zeenat’s mother Parveen Bibi, brother Anees and brother-in-law Zafar before the ATC Court-IV Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas in strict security.
The investigation officer apprised the court that he had completed interrogation from the accused and their physical remand was not required any longer.
At this, the court sent all the accused to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
Zeenat Rafiq, a resident of Main Chungi Bazaar, was allegedly burnt alive by her mother, brother and brother-in-law for marrying against wishes of the family. Police registered a case against the three on the complaint of Zeenat’s husband Hassan Khan.
