A police official on Saturday allegedly tortured a senior citizen near Faizabad bus stand.

The police official deployed at a check post near Faizabad bus stand exchanged harsh words with a senior citizen and tortured him, locking him in the police station. The citizens took on the road against the incident and chanted slogans against the police.

Later, SSP Sajid Kiani took a notice and suspended the police official and released the senior citizen. The identity of citizen could not be ascertained immediately.
