Governor orders FWO to complete second track of LEW by this year

 

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has said that timely completion with utmost standards was necessary to ensure maximum benefits of development project to the masses.

This he said while talking to Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) Director General Major-General Muhammad Afzal here at the Governor’s House.

The governor said the FWO was working on many pivotal projects in the province which included Lyari Express Way (LEW), Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M9) and K-4 water supply project.

He said that the second track of LEW must be completed by the end of this year so as to facilitate the citizens.

“This project has already been delayed for a long time and initiation of construction work on north-bound track after a gap of eight years, it is hoped that it would be completed by December this year,” added Ebad.

The governor lauded speedy construction work on 136-KM-long M-9 project, saying that with its completion residents of both cities would benefit from state-of-the-art travelling facilities.

Highlighting the importance of K-IV water supply project, the governor said that it was a vital project and would help overcome the shortage of potable water to Karachiites.

The KW&SB has already been directed to ensure judicious supply of available drinking water to all localities of the city and also take measures to control leakages, theft from its lines and action against illegal hydrants.

The FWO DG informed the governor about the pace of work of the various projects and pledged to take every step for completion of the north bound track of LEW by the end of this year.
