Citizens concerned on rising mugging incidents in Karachi

The rising mugging incidents in Karachi at the start of Eid shopping season have worried the citizens, who demand an improved policing in the mega city.

The city has witnessed an abrupt rise in the incidents of mugging and robberies especially in market areas of the city.

Pasban Pakistan Deputy Chief and Pasban Karachi Coordination Committee Chairman Tariq Chandiwala said that the increasing crimes of robbery are the part of a conspiracy to dub the Karachi operation unsuccessful. He demanded that life and property of citizens should be protected at all costs.

He appealed the Sindh Rangers DIG, Sindh IGP, Karachi additional IG, DIG East and Bahadurabad police station SSP to take strict notice of these increasing criminal activities.

He further said that Bahadurabad and surronding areas have witnessed 20 robberies in last few days.

Tariq blamed that the police personnel are busy in collecting extortion from vendors while muggers have been given a free hand to commit crimes and flee successfully.

He said that if strict action against the muggers is not taken, the citizens will be compelled to consider the police as facilitator of these muggers.
