Dozens of Pakistani workers, stranded in Saudi Arabia’s Dammam city, have once again appealed the Government of Pakistan for help.

Pakistani workers have been trapped in Dammam for more than two months after expiry of their iqama. They have also been deprived of their monthly salaries due to financial problems of their employer, M/s. Saad Contracting and Construction Company.

According to the workers, two members from Pakistani embassy visited them and left after saying “please pray”.

Speaking to private TV channel, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakariya said that Saudi authorities have ensured to address their problems at earliest.

Earlier on June 23, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had informed that the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh is making efforts to address the suffering of Pakistani workers in Dammam on account of non-payment of their dues by a construction company.

The Embassy had also brought the matter to the attention of the Saudi Foreign Office.

“Our Mission is closely pursuing the matter with the view to alleviate the difficulties being faced by our expatriates at the earliest possible,” the ministry stated.
