The National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) showed great displeasure over FATA Secretariat’s negligence in implementing the recommendations of the committee regarding the appointment of junior officers on the higher post in the FATA Secretariat.

The committee strongly recommended removing the junior officers appointed on senior posts in the FATA Secretariat and asked to appoint senior officers according to service rules and regulations.

The committee was informed that 200 kilometres road for South Waziristan as recommended by the committee was not included in the PSDP for the financial year 2016-17 by the Planning and Development Division, however, the said road has been included in the FATA ADP for the financial year 2016-17. The committee further recommended to the concerned quarters to make the water supply schemes of FATA functional, in particular, South Waziristan where the TDPs will be returned very soon.
