Officials from the Meteorological Department have predicted the moon sighting, for the new Islamic month of Shawwal, is expected to be on July 5 (Wednesday).
Moon sighting chances in the southern areas of the country are predicted by astronomers to be quite high.
The two main institutions in the country that make announcements regarding the sighting of the moon are the Met Dept and Ruet-e-Hilal committee.
