The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Thursday rejected K-Electric’s summary seeking Rs 14 per unit increase in power prices to provide electricity to the residents in Karachi.
The Nepra official said that the authorities have expressed reservations over increasing electricity prices as the city is bearing a severe power crisis.
He said that a total of Rs 8 per unit reduction has been observed in electricity rate due to which K-Electric has been directed to compensate the money.
The Nepra has announced that the decision of raising the prices of electricity would be taken later.
