- Rain may occur in different parts of country
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Thursday (today) forecasts weather to remain hot and humid in most parts of the country during the day time.
More rain-thundershower with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Kalat and Makran divisions, and at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, D.I. Khan, D.G Khan, Quetta and Zhob divisions, FATA, Islamabad and Kashmir.
Temperature of some major cities recorded on Thursday morning was:
Islamabad 28°C, Lahore thirty-one, Karachi 29°C, Peshawar 30°C, Quetta 23°C, Gilgit 21°C, Murree 19°C and Muzaffarabad 24°C.
-Flood expected as rainy season may prolong till September-
Heavy rains have already started in some cities but according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) rains will increase in coming days and will continue until the month of September.
According to Met office, there is also the danger of floods as water would be difficult to control due to the heavy rains. The rainy season is expected to prolong until September.
