$900m saving expected after completion of Tarbella extension project

 

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms on Wednesday met under the Chairmanship of MNA Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail to discuss the Tarbella Fourth Extension Hydro Power Project (1410MW) and other LNG based power plants.

The committee was informed that savings of $900 million are expected after the completion of Tarbella 4th Extension Hydropower Project. The committee said that the Project should be completed on time on priority basis.

The committee showed satisfaction over the progress of Balloki and Haveli Bahadur Shah, RLNG projects. The committee was also informed that both projects were awarded through international bidding on Levelized Energy Cost (LEC) in accordance with PPRA rules.

MNAs, Ch Jaffar Iqbal, Syed Muhammad Athar Hussain Shah Gillani, Tariq Christopher Qaiser, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Shaheen Shafiq, Shazia Farid, Shamas-un-Nisa, Dr Nafisa Shah, Junaid Akbar, Sheikh Salahuddin, Sher Akber Khan and Iftikhar-ud-Din attended the meeting. Officials of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms and Ministry of Water and Power were also present on the occasion.
