Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sajid Kiani directed the heads of all police stations to launch effective crackdown against alm-seekers and ensure registration of cases against them after arresting them.
Following his directions, the police spokesman said that Islamabad police have started efforts to curb the menace of begging and take prompt legal action against the professional alm-seekers.
These teams would patrol in the shopping centres and markets for the arrest of professional beggars.
On Tuesday, Islamabad police arrested 70 beggars and action is also being taken as per law against the professional alm-seekers.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad police also impounded 150 motorbikes being driven without documents.
