At least five persons were killed and two other sustained injuries when a speeding truck ran over a car at National Highway near New Saeedabad in Sindh’s Matiari district Monday (today).
The incident took place when a car en-route to Khairpur from Mirpur crashed into an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction.
The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Naseeban, 35-year-old Gulistan, 32-year-old Shaista, 40-year-old Abdul Ghani and driver Muhammad Iqbal.
The deceased belonged to Tando Masti area in Khairpur.
Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured and bodies to the nearby hospitals.
