A man who was undergoing treatment in Sheikh Zaid Hospital in Lahore has allegedly committed suicide after jumping off the hospital roof.
The deceased identified as Usman, 23, a resident of Charsadda, was admitted to the hospital after kidney failure and was currently undergoing dialysis.
According to hospital sources, the patient was depressed because of the severity of the disease and was insisting for discharge, but his condition was not stable enough so he could not be discharged. He jumped off the hospital building to end his life.
The body was sent to the native village for burial after medico-legal formalities at the hospital. The police have registered a case and started investigation. A three-member inquiry committee has been formed and advised to submit its report within three days.
