National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has formally launched campaign for re-verification of registered families to identify illegally registered people in families.
NADRA is issuing SMS from 8008 to heads of families to get confirmation of their registered members.
A citizen can also get verified his family sending his CNIC number to 8008. However, the re-verification of Computerised National Identity Cards will start from the 1st of next month.
NADRA has established the needed helpline capable of handling 10,000 calls per day and an SMS gateway of 150,000 SMS per day to facilitate people who will report suspected CNICs.
The Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had directed NADRA to ensure utilisation of all its resources to achieve the desired objective of removing aliens from its database within the given timeline.
He also approved media strategy for awareness of masses.
