Govt allocates Rs151m for IT parks in Islamabad

The federal government has allocated Rs 151 million for initiating the Information Technology Parks Development project in Islamabad.

The government also allocated Rs 230 million for the construction of cross-border Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) system between China and Pakistan for international connectivity of voice and data traffic and Rs 300 million have been designated for the replacement of Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) network of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (Special Communications Organisation), said an official of the Ministry.

A sum of Rs 128 million has been earmarked for laying OFC to connect remote locations of AJK and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).

For GB, an amount of Rs 10 million has been allocated in Public Sector Development Programme for expansion and up gradation of GSM network.
