Punjab govt employees to get advance salary on June 29

The Punjab government Saturday (today) issued a notification stating that Muslim employees and contractual workers will receive advance salary by June 29.

While the Sindh and Balochistan government announced that Muslim employees and contractual workers will receive advance salary by June 27.

According to Pakistan Metrological department, the annual Muslim festival is likely to fall on July 6 or 7.

The decision has been taken to facilitate government workers so that they could do the Eid shopping.

Meanwhile, The Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) is planning to disburse pension among its beneficiaries through Automated Teller Machines (ATM) cards.

According to official sources, the EOBI pensioners would start receiving pensions through ATMs from August 1 at all the branches of bank Alfalah.

The main objective of the revolutionary step is to enable the EOBI pensioners to get their pension in a hassle-free environment.

The new initiative of EOBI would save its pensioners from standing in long queues for getting money.

The pensioners have been advised to bring their original Computerised National Identity Card and original pension book to their nearest branch of Bank Alfalah for registration.

According to sources, the registered male pensioners for EOBI are 3,89,000 while the total number of females has been recorded as 1,84,000.

However, 8000 people have got registered under the scheme so far.
