Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that all MNAs of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz are united under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Responding to the editors during a Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) meeting at a local hotel on Saturday, the minister said the National Assembly recently passed the Budget 2016-17 which was no less than a vote of confidence by the parliamentarians and should be enough to understand that the PML-N was united.
About his meeting with Prime Minister Sharif, Rashid said the premier was recuperating fast and he had started taking walks on a regular basis as per the instructions of his doctors, adding that his heart yearned for Pakistan.
The minister hinted that the premier might return to the country during Eid holidays if his physicians allowed him to travel by air after medical check-ups next week. He also said that Nawaz Sharif owed his health to his doctors and prayers of the nation.
Rashid, to a question, said Pakistan had always maintained that it would never allow the use of its land against any other country and expected other countries to follow the suit. He said all countries in the region would discuss steps in this regard during the SAARC conference to be held in Pakistan this year.
The minister further said Prime Minister Sharif had called Pakistani envoys from all major countries of the world for a meeting after Eid in order to spell out country’s policy to them so that they could carry the message to the countries they were posted to.
About the recent law and order incidents in Karachi, Pervaiz Rashid said these incidents did not mark return of old days of panic in the provincial metropolis, adding that the back-bone of terrorists had been broken by the Operation Zarb-e-Azb and 90 per cent of anti-state elements had been annihilated while a few of their remnants could not shake the nation’s confidence by such singular incidents.
