Some 80 actors including Fakhar-e-Alam, Meera, Zeba Bakhtiar, Maria Wasti and Faisal Qureshi visited Defence Police Station Karachi late on Friday and demanded security from the police and other law enforcement agencies.
An application seeking police protection signed by all the artists was submitted to the police, who said that appropriate action will be taken after consulting the Sindh IGP.
Talking to reporters, Fakhar-e-Alam said that all artists had been receiving threats, therefore it was important that the police takes their request seriously.
“If the political leaders cannot guarantee our security then they should give up their own police guards,” he said.
