CJP satisfied with police efforts for Owais’s recovery

Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction over administration’s efforts for abducted Owais Ali Shah’s recovery, son of Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Sajjad Ali Shah.

Chief Justice Jamali held separate meetings with Sindh chief secretary, home secretary, inspector general of police and Rangers director general in Supreme Court Karachi Registry on Saturday.

The officials briefed the chief justice on security situation in the city and steps taken by the government and law enforcement agencies for immediate recovery of Owais Ali Shah. The CJP resented the law enforcement agencies stating had the Sindh police taken timely action, situation would have been different in the case.

The DG Rangers briefed him on the progress in targeted operation against criminals and target killers. He also briefed about the progress in investigation into Awais Shah kidnapping and Amjad Sabri’s murder cases as well as security situation in Karachi.

An operation was launched in Karachi in September 2013 that aimed at ridding the city of criminal elements and terrorists working against its stability. Over thousand different operations have been carried out so far in leadership of the paramilitary force. Rangers have nabbed armed workers of political parties mainly Muttahida Qaumi Movement and lodged cases against them in anti-terrorism courts over the last two and half years.

KHURSHID SHAH EXPRESSES SOLIDARITY WITH SHC CJ

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah on Saturday called on Sindh High Court Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and expressed solidarity with his family over kidnapping of his son, Awais Shah.

The meeting was held at the Sindh High Court. The opposition leader prayed for safe recovery of Awais Shah and assured complete support and help in this regard.
