At least five people including two women were dead and another was injured in firing of a policeman who committed suicide later.
Police said that a cop Javed over a dispute of giving notice for vacating rental apartment barged into a house of a woman lawyer identified as Irum in Bani Gala area on late Wednesday night and opened indiscriminate fire at the residents.
As a result of firing, an elderly woman Hajira, 65, a youngster Arshad and three others got injured including two women and a child. The cop committed suicide with the same weapon later.
The bodies and injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where the lawyer Irum and her three-year-old son succumbed to their wounds on Thursday after which the death toll climbed to five.
