Massive fire takes down three places in industrial area of Karachi

A massive fire broke out Friday engulfing three points in Karachi’s industrial area.

The initial fire started in a chemical factory in the city’s Site Area and in a tyre factory near Gulbai, which was being controlled by the firefighters.

Fire officials declared it a third-degree fire. However, no causalities were reported.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah took notice of the incident and directed commissioner Karachi to utilise all available resources at hand to control the fire.

According to reports, all fire brigades in the city had been summoned by the firefighting department to reach the industrial area immediately.

It was still unclear what the cause of the fire was, with officials stating that the reason can only be determined after an investigation into the matter is conducted.

Last night, a massive fire broke out in a pharmaceutical company near Hawkesbay. According to fire officials, short circuit caused the fire to erupt and that before it was extinguished, medicines worth millions of rupees were destroyed.
