Home minister seeks effective strategy to curb crimes

Provisional Home Minister Sohail Anwar Khan Sial and Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khwaja on Friday chaired a high-level meeting at Karachi Police Office (KPO), discussed law and order situation, and issued directions to make more effective the strategy to curb crimes.

The meeting was attended by Additional IGP Karachi Mushtaq Maher, Additional IGP CTD Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, Zonal DIGs, District SSPs, law advisor to chief minister Sindh, SSPs of investigation wing, and other senior officers. Mushtaq Maher briefed the meeting regarding ongoing Karachi operation against criminals in the city.

Sohail Anwar directed police to make police measures more effective and criminal elements be eliminated. He said an action should be ensured against fake number plates, displaying weapons, aerial firing and tinted glasses of vehicles.

The law advisor to chief minister said that the robbery incidents should be stopped forthwith in the metropolis and every possible measure regarding it should be taken. The IGP directed police officials to take immediate action against criminals besides increasing patrolling across the city. He also directed for ensuring security measures for the city’s mosques, imambargahs, shopping centers, and other sensitive places.
