Mufti Qavi wanted to soleminise 18th nikkah with me, says Qandeel Baloch

Internet sensation Qandeel Baloch and Mufti Abdul Qavi have been in the limelight ever since their meeting at Mufti’s suite in Hotel Regent Plaza in Karachi for Iftaari.

Qandeel Baloch set the social media on fire on Monday evening after she posted on her Facebook page at least three selfies of herself with Mufti Qavi

Amid controversy, both the Mufti and Qandeel appeared at a private TV channel live talk show and gave details about the meeting.

Qandeel declared that she deliberately went to see the Mufti during the afternoon as she was of the view that the premier must be fasting, but actually wasn’t.

Mufti responding to this allegation said that ‘The woman was self-invited and when she arrived I was observing fast. I wanted to take advantage of this holy month and guide the lady into divine direction.’

Furthermore, Qandeel asserted that Qavi promised her that she is going be his 18th wife. On this, Mufti Qavi slammed her allegation and said that he takes Qandeel as his daughter.

On a question to Mufti that how he preached her and what advice he gave upon the evil eye, Mufti responded, ‘I clearly told the woman that she’s not under any evil omens.’

Moreover, when asked to Qandeel about her take on the social media criticism, she said, “I don’t care about the comments. Yes, I did click selfies and made the video deliberately because I wanted to expose ‘fake muftis’ like Qavi.”

PTI Spokesperson Naeem-ul-Haq said ‘PTI has disassociated itself from Mufti Qavi after his recent behaviour. The new head of the Ulema wing is Mufti Muhammad Saeed, he added.

The head of ulema wing of PTI is Mufti Saeed not Mufti Qawi. PTI dissociates itself completely from Mufti Qawi’s behaviour.

PTI member Imran Ismail also commenting on the incident said, ‘The intentions of Mufti Qavi are quite evident after he called a young, single woman into his hotel suite all alone.’
