Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, the other day said the nation could not trust Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan, as according to him, Imran had sold Pakistan cricket team to Kerry Packer for the sake of money.

Talking to media after hosting an Iftar dinner for the children of Anjuman Faizul Islam on the occasion of World Orphan Day, he said a similar offer of Kerry Packer was refused by the Indian captain.

Packer was an Australian media tycoon, who in 1977 set up his own cricket series by secretly signing agreements with leading Australian, English, Pakistani, South African and West Indian players.

Rashid said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was supervising all affairs and issuing instructions to concerned officials despite his surgery. “The doctors have expressed their satisfaction over the pace of recovery of the prime minister,” he added.

Rashid said the prime minister will celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr with the people of Pakistan. “Prayers of people of Pakistan are with the prime minister and he is regaining his health quickly,” he added.

Rashid said the prime minister said he would counter all those who were trying to turn successes of Pakistan into failure. “There were elements which are not happy that Pakistan has become self-reliant in defence and now was becoming economically self-reliant,” he added.
