Administrator makes 5 teams for removing encroachments

Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) Administrator Laeeq Ahmed has issued order for setting up five teams for taking immediate action against encroachments established in front of Haidery Market and adjoining shopping centers in district central.

During a detailed visit of Haidery Market, Dolmen Mall, Shadman and other shopping centers, he directed concerned officers to continue action against illegal bachat bazars and unauthorised charged parking in the city besides removing the encroachments, said a statement on Wednesday.

The E&IP director and other officers accompanied the KMC administrator during this visit where he took strict notice of the f temporary bazars alongside road and on pavement in front of the Haidery Market and Dolmen Mall.

On the occasion, he also issued order of suspension of service of charged parking inspector for allowing charged parking in front of Dolmen Mall Haidery after the time fixed for parking.

He also directed that the 225 guards and 56 inspectors of charged parking department must be activated immediately and their presence on designated points should be made sure.

The administrator said that charged parking was not allowed on sites other than 41 charged parking sites already advertised through newspapers. He said the action against holding of all illegal bacaht bazaars was also underway in the city.

Following the directive of Administrator Laeeq Ahmed, the anti-encroachment department of the KMC removed all kinds of encroachments including cabins, patharas, counters and shops from main road and footpath around Haroon Shopping Center in Sakhi Hassan on Wednesday. Later, the seized items were deposited in the KMC store.

The administrator also directed the anti-encroachments staff to continue its campaign against encroachments in the city so that the citizens could be saved from trouble due to encroachments alongside main roads and on pavements, especially during the holy month of Ramzan.
