Robber carrying Rs 1.5m head money among 21 outlaws arrested

Police arrested 21 suspected criminals on Tuesday during a targeted operation in Ghotki.

SSP Ghotki Masood Ahmed Bangash, speaking in a press conference, stated that a dacoit Dillo Tarat, involved in crimes in Sindh and Punjab, was arrested by police. He said the notorious dacoit was wanted to the police in two provinces for more than 30 cases of kidnapping for ransom, murder and robbery.

The government had announced a head money of Rs 1.5 million for his arrest.

SSP Bangash said three more robbers namely Murad Shar, Kuraro Shaikh and Jaffar Shar were also held in the raid; each of them carrying head money of Rs 0.5 million for their arrest. They were wanted to the law enforcement agencies in more than 60 cases.

As many as 17 other suspects wanted in different cases were arrested and weapons were recovered from their possession. The SSP said they were held after encounters with police whereas some of them surrendered themselves to the authorities.

Bangash stated that 200 proclaimed offenders and more than 700 criminals had been arrested in the span of two months. He added that more than 20 of the arrested suspects were those for which the government had announced head money. The SSP said: “All no-go areas across the district have been finished whereas the targeted operations against criminals will continue to take place till crime is fully eradicated from the area.”
