Psychiatric test to be conducted on serving policemen

The Punjab government has decided to conduct a psychiatric test of serving policemen and officers across the province including Rawalpindi division. This announcement came following the public complaints of violence, physical torture and non-redressal of their grievances by personnel of force.

A senior officer in the Central Police Office Rawalpindi said that serving policemen and officers will be required to obtain mental fitness certificates from hospitals.

“The test will help evaluate the mental fitness of the men working in the police force. Their promotion will also be linked to the mental health report,” the officer said.

Another source said that the psychiatric test of police personnel has started in its first phase and they will undergo the test at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
