In wake of the militancy threats, the Interior Ministry has directed to tighten the security of Islamabad while the capital police are facing a shortage of force for the security of shopping centres and parks.

The Interior Ministry directed the police force to appoint four persons, including an assistant sub inspector, head constable and two constables at public places. However, no strategy has been formed so far as Islamabad police does not have enough force to deploy according to these directives.

This is because the police department is already providing security to mosques and patrol during the month of Ramzan.

The Ministry received threats by militants to attack key government buildings, sensitive installations, private bus services, shopping centres and parks. Following that, the ministry has directed the law enforcement agencies (LEA) to tighten security across the country, appealing the masses to be aware of any untoward incident.

The capital police are also conducting search operations in the capital in which many national and international suspects are arrested. The LEA is succeeding in the operations.

However, due to the shortage of police force, it has not developed any security plan for the capital for the month of Ramzan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
