Sindh Inspector General (IG) of Police AD Khawaja took serious notice of the increasing number of street crimes in the province, particularly in Karachi, and sought immediate reports from all the DIGs about every district and every police station.

The Sindh police spokesman said the Sindh IG has categorically stated that the SHOs of areas where the street crimes have increased have no justification to remain on their present duties.

He told all the supervisory officers that the department would not tolerate lacklustre performance of the responsible officials. He also warned that departmental action would be taken against those not fulfilling their duties.

The criminals feel free as the night falls in Karachi and they carry out their criminal activities without any fear. The IG also sought lists of criminals released on bail by the courts.

The IG also directed the police force to implement the Ramzan emergency plan and ensure sharing of information.

He also asked the police to pay special attention to coordination with Sindh Rangers and intelligence agencies.
